help injured shark

i have a leopard shark and i have a large well really large hermit crab from my other tank and i moved it to my shark tank and the hermit ate about 3/4 of his dorsal fin. It also put a gash in its left side. The dorsal fin is bleeding and it looks really bad. i moved the hermit crab. i dont know what to do will he get an infection? what should i put in the water to help? will his fins grow back? any info would be good. thanx

Keep an eye on the situation for now. If the shark is docile you can try disinfecting the wounds with a swap of cotton using hydrogen peroxide.

This is a little off topic beth, but thought it was interesting regarding this situation.
If you go to the beach and cut your foot on a shell, you are told to go clean it out in the saltwater to keep it from getting an infection... :) Seems ironic. Putting hydrogen peroxide on a shark that lives in the saltwater!
