I have a 46 gl tank, several lr, 1 tomato clown, a baby gobi, 1 bicolored baby goby, 1 watchman gobi, 1 decorative crab, 1 flame scallop, 1 blue tang, 1 pistol shrimp, 1 sand starfish, 2 bubbletip anemonies, lots of crabs, lots of snails, tank is very good in all levels, my question is: We just bought the blue tang yesterday , today we were looking at him and he is totally covered with white stuff, also my babies have it too, but not my clown, if this is ich how do we get rid of it, as it is not the same as freshwater ich, we don't know what to do. We read the other websights on hyposalinity, and copper and kick ich and uv lights everyone has different opinions. So what do i do as i don't want to kill my inverts. <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

To be perfectly honest you will need to pull all of your fish out into a hospital or quarantine tank, and choose a treatment, hyposalinity being the treatment of my choice. Inverts cant live through any truely effective ick treatment so your fish need to be removed. You can try garlic if you want but it may be only effective in very mild cases and sometimes not even then. Do a search on hyposalinity and you will find what you need to know. Once you get through this, quarantine all future additions or risk catastrophy with every new addition.
