Help me design a mounting bracket for my MH sockets..

Ok I've ordered my XM 10k MH bulbs and I have sockets but no mounting brackets for the sockets so I'm gonna make some out of aluminum. What I need to know is how far the bulb should be from the reflector, give dimensions of the nearest part of the bulb to the reflector. I'm not planning on mounting the reflector raised from the canopy but the canopy has 2 coats of white latex paint to protect the wood from the heat from the bulb/reflector.

Here is how I mounted mine: Use the spider reflectors - they are pretty awesome! They have the mounting base, mogul and parabolic reflector, all in one.

I also have spider reflectors, I love it, I can run one 250w MH over my 36" 58gal and have no dark spots in the tank.

so make the closest part of the bulb 2" from the reflector, I didn't get the brackets with the sockets because my mom got me the ballasts and sockets for free but they didn't have the brackets though
