ok when i take a pic of my 55gal tank how far away should i be?And i should leave the flash off,right?

Fill the frame with your tank. Yes, flash off and if you are using a digital, you may have to adjust the white balance some to get the colors to look correct. LOL

If you are taking fast moving fish, like tangs, then you may wanna check your option from taking single picture to ultra. That would allow your camera to take at a very fast rate. For mine, it takes about 30 picture frames in a second.
