this is a tank you are just starting? If so you need a filter, live rock, tank, live sand. Later down the road you will probably want a skimmer, upgraded lights. And not to rain on your parade you need alot more than 2 hundred. I would say probably triple that no matter what size tank you get. If you go fish only it will be cheaper too just so you know and get the biggest tank you can.

well 200$ will not get you started in SW honestly you start up cost is closer to 500-1000+
but if you want to start reaaaaalllyyy slow ,,,,save it for a bigger tank you can find almost complete setups if you save your money for ahwile

Yes, it really does cost that much. And the smaller the tank, the more maintenance involved.

Your best bet might be a jbj nano. They come with the filtration and lights... you just have to buy the heater, substrate, decorations and/or liverock and inhabitants. A 24 gallon is generally in the low $200's and there is a 12 gallon that is cheaper.

Simple fact is that it is not an inexpensive hobby in any way. Even if you made it past the set up cost, you are still looking down the road at regular water changes (need salt mix), food, fish, etc. In this hobby a single fish can easily cost $30-$50. And smaller tanks are not easier.
your best bet is to find a local reef club and see if anyone is selling a used system. But realistically, $200 is pretty low. You might be able to do it, but you'll need additional money down the road as well. Just keep that in mind.

My 95 FOWLR came to be 2800 with everything from water, 80lbs of rock and everything thats in there. The bigger the tank slower problems will happen (except leaks) and the smaller the tank, the faster problems spread so the more you have to be on top. If you want to save money get a nano cube for like 250$...do LOTS of research because the start up won't be much but you'll be spending on water and care for the fish. I would wait and get a bigger tank.
