Other than the obvoius things like amonia, nitrates and trites, PH, calcium, and salinity, what specifically should I be testing for to make sure that my water is right for healthy happy corals?
I have a 37gal cube with a sea clone 100 skimmer, cascade 700 canister, sunpod 250w mh with lunars, and an 18w actinic. I have about 20lbs of ls, and 45lbs of lr. I also have an extra powerhead for added flow. Turnover is about 10 times/hr
I recently bought some corals....hammer, frogspawn, colt, bubble....and they all died!! Overnight!!! I added them at night, so they woke up to lunars, then actinics then halides....so I wouldn't think that light shock could've been the culprit.
As far as I know, my water quality is not perfect...but good.
Amonia-0
Trites-0
Trates-10
PH-8.3
Calcium-380 (working on getting that up a bit)
Phosphates-I forget the number. They are not 0...but not high either.
Salinity-1.024
Temp-Bout 80
Why would these corals ALL have died?! And yes....they are dead.
Is there something I should be testing for in my tank that I missed? I have a few other corals that have been doing well in the tank, so I wouldn't have added more if I wasn't confident that everything was right.
Please help!
