Coral beauties are nice and will be fine in a 55. Clown fish, firefish. gobies, shrimps, crabs, snails. I don't think there is any tang or butterfly you could put in a 55.

coral beauty, lemonpeel or flame. You can have ONE but not more than one angel together. Flame is more aggressive and should be the last fish introduced.

instead of a yellow tang, look at a kole tang. they tend to stay the smallest out of the tangs. a yellow in a 55 can turn very aggressive towards new fish or even established fish.
look also at hawfish.
if you want active fish, get a school of green chromis. very active, inexpensive, colorful, and most importantly docile.

I have a yellow tang and a coral beauty in my 55 and they are just fine... the tang did pick on the coral beauty for a while but it's all good now after I had to reorganize my live rock
