Help me tell what is wrong

I have a pair of captive bred O clowns in a 12 gallon aquapod. I know that the one we think is female has lymphocytis (I know wrong spelling). We have had them for about two months and they had been the only fish in this tank. We recently added a green BTA and an arrow crab. My wife noticed the spots about a week ago and it seemed that during the day you couldn't see them it was when the lights turned off that they were noticeable. Now you can see them all the time. Both fish seem very healthy and active and are even showing signs of breeding. I want to think that this might be ich. But I could not understand how this could show up two weeks after we brought them home when they were the only fish in the tank. Can anybody confirm my diagnosis and how is the best treated. Also it seems that both fish seem to be chewing on the tips of the anemone's tentacles. Not like they're eating but like an infant suckling. Should I be concerned. The lighting is just what it came with. And the levels in my tank are textbook perfect. Out of the five tanks that I have, the largest being 200 gallons, this 12 gallon as the best test results. I hope someone can give me an honest. Here's a picture

It does look like ich to me. Not sure. :notsure: Them sucking on the tentacles is normal, I had a clown do this once. An arrow crab should not be in a 12gl tank. You should move him to a bigger tank IMO. It is possible he brought the ick into the tank. Hope this help, and I hope you get it figured out.

It may be Brookenella(wrong spelling also). Also known as clown fish disease. I had a tomatoe clown that had it. It was a real pain in the neck to get rid of. It will eventually start eating away at the tail and fins. Fresh water dipping is recomended, I kept mine in a copper QT for a few months. It finally went away. Like I said, I don't know if that is it, but mine looked like ick, then looked like a slime was hanging off of the little guys gills and fins. it was real nasty. Good luck, i hope you can fix it!!!!

If u haven't already look at the disease board. Beth has pictures up of what some diseases look like. From what I have seen on posts it looks like Ich to me, but I have not personally had experiance with ich. (KNOCK ON WOOD)
As far as the crab bringing ich, I thought ich needed a "fish" as a host. IDK

Brookenella looks just like ick, just doesn't go away as easy, and is doesn't spread to any other kind of fish. only clown fish.

BigTang - I by no means am trying to flame you or anything. So don't take this wrong.

I have already stated I don't know anything about ich or any other disease for that matter - except Popeye I have had experiance with that

Here is what Beth says: "Brooklynella is a parasite seen most frequently in clownfish, so its sometimes called "clownfish disease"; however, other fish are certainly susceptible to this parasite. The most effective treatment is formalin bathes. The procedure is discussed in detail in the FAQ Thread located in the Disease Forum."
So yeah other fish can get it. But looking at the pictures Brooklynella IMO looks more like a film on the fish than dots like in the picture above. But again that is just MY OPINION and is not worth anything really

I suggest that Chefjoeyp post this to the disease thread and see what Beth has to say since she is our resident expert.

Good Luck!!
Oh here is where you can go Chef to look at pictures and read more https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/showthread.php?t=127010
