i'm not sure what in the heck is the problem. i had a long nose butterfly fish and the thing was perfectly healthy. i had him in a quartine tank for 2 weeks and then put him in my main tank about 2 weeks ago. he was getting along fine in the main tank. no fish were aggrevating him and all levels in the aquarium were perfect. i had a tiny bought with ick but when i left town on friday he was perfectly fine, not a bit of ick on him and he was eating great. my copper banded had ick to but now he's fine. what in the heck could have made him die? i'm SO mad. this keeps happening, all of my levels are perfect, everything in the aquarium is going fine, then a fish dies for no apparent reason. this happened to 2 of my angels to, can anyone give me some type of advice about this???????????

You said you had an ick outbreak, how did you deal with it?

As requested for help need to know size of tank, filtration, and what is in it, also how long tank has been set up.

as for the ick problem i used this one treat ment, i'm not sure of the name but it's a blue liquid and i've used it before in the past with perfect results. as for the fish i have in there besides that butterfly is 2 damsels, a yellow wrasse, clown fish, and a copper banded butterfly fish, i have a 55 gal aquarium with about 70lbs of lr, a wet dry filter and protein skimmer, but as for size and things i don't know why it would matter if my water and everything is perfect there shouldn't be a problem and none of the other fish were harrasing him, am i wrong???

Also remember ick is a tiny parasite. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there. When you can see it you have a major problem.

I tell you what, I had ick when I first got my tank, and I bought a UV sterilizer, haven't had a problem since, they are worth their weight in gold.

hey trey, i was curious, do u think that if i get a uv filter that i'd be able to treat my remaining fish i have now and at the same time kill the remaining bacteria in the tank without moving them to a hospital tank? all i have is a 10 gallon hospital tank and i don't think i can fit 2 damsels, a clown fish, and a 3 1/2 in copper banded butterfly fish, so what do u think, would it work????
