I am kinda new to the saltwater fish thing, and I had my 55 gal built in wet/dry for about 6 months. I have one fish. a clown fish, and he seems to be doing ok. but I have all this brown stuff on my live sand, and every time i clean it it comes back with in 2 days. It looks very bad. I dont have a Protein Skimmer, and was wondering if thats what I need to get rid of the brown allge looking stuff. Any thoughts on this would help me.
