Help! Micro bubbles everywhere!

I just purchased an odyssea PS75 protein skimmer and It is my first protein skimmer ever. I barely managed to get it working, and i was wondering a couple of things. First, how high should I have the water level that leads to the collection cup? And Second, there are millions of micro bubbles coming out through the release thing and I do not know how to get this to stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

ok so i have found that time has fixed my bubble problem, but i still do not know what level I should leave my bubbles at because my collection cup fills with water after about 5 minutes.

That is normal for a new skimmer. It may take a couple hours to get under control. It may take a couple weeks to become totally stable.

ok yeah that makes sense because now it looks as if there is more debris collecting in the cup instead of water so i guess time was all i needed thanks for the information. It's really hard to adjust the bubbles as it goes from nothing to basically overflowing with bubbles after the slightest turn. Is that normal?

I don't have any experience with that skimmer so I am afraid I can not offer any help with that.

I'm not familiar with that unit as well. But the depth of water the skimmer is sitting in makes a difference also. If in fact it is in the sump.
When you say slightest turn...is that part of the the overflow pipe out of the skimmer? Now that it has been a few days, try to get it to keep the top of the bubbles in the middle of the upper neck. Watch it a day or 2 then adjust as necessary. Dialing in skimmers is a lil bit of a pain.

The odysea has a little knob you turn that closes the output pipe, it's going to be very difficult to make slight changes in it. You just need to keep tweaking it back and forth for some time, then when you get it set just right, don't ever touch it again.
If there's any way you could attach something on the knob to extend it it would make it much easier to dial in. Like a piece of hard airline tubing super glued on top of it, extending out a few inches to create a lever. This would allow you to make much smaller changes, make sense?

sorry i haven't responded in awhile but yeah it's a hang on back skimmer and the dial is from the output piping like you already knew. I have gotten the bubbles to stay in the same place where you suggested and instead of overflowing with water it builds up a nice black glob of crap lol so thank you for that. if I find a good spot for the dial i shouldn't change it ever? I am wondering because it seems it the water level it higher or lower it affects it. and that is a really good idea with extending the lever to make it more precise i am going to try it. Thanks
