If I have a CPR Aquatic CS90 overflow box going into my wet/dry filter what size pump do I need to pump it back up into the tank? the hight it has to push it up is 3 1/2 feet and there is a little elbo joint that holds the tube on the tank. looks like:

Right now I have a RIO 1400 and my overflow box does not fill with water it just keeps a slow constant flow down. I noticed when I added more water or lowerd the box the flow rate increased and the box started to fill. This was good untill I noticed that a pool of water started to grow at my feet. (not good) This is my first time ever with a wet dry so any other advice would be great! Also what brand of power head is best to use for the little air valve on my CS90 to restart it up? I tried a rio 50 but it was to week. The type of wet dry that I have is the Aqua Clear 75gl wet dry Pro series. Lastly does the rate the powerhead pushing the water back into the tank nee to be = to the rate of the overflow box going into the wet/dry? that makes sense to me but just want to make shure.
Thanks in advance to all who help!

I would either get a bigger powerhead as the one you have does not have enough power or get you a pump. Mags are pretty good pumps and is what I use. I use a mag 7, you would probably need something a little smaller

I use a #7 mag drive @ 700 GPH. on a 55 gal.
3.5' up from wet/dry in my cabnet.
What is the size of the return line that you are using off of the pump? 1/2 ", 3/4"?

The Overflow box is rated at 600gl per hour and the tube going back up to the tank is 3/4". If I get a mag 7 it is rated at 480gl per hour at 4 ft & 500 at 3 ft? Is that going to be enough going up the 3 1/2 feet? and still have the flow rate of the over flow all the way?

If your overflow is rated at 600gph,you can use any pump up to 600gph on the return...But the pump,or the overflow did not cause your flood. This was caused by you pouring extra water down the overflow...The overflow will only remove water from the tank as fast as the pump returns it..So even though you thought it(the overflow) was running slow,in reality it was working perfectly with the RIO pump you were using...
