Ok so i have a 4 month old 10 gal tank I noticed recently a fish pass so I decided to do some testing...well as I anticipated the levels were very bad;
ph-8.0
sal.1.026
ammonia-.5
nitrite->1
Nitrate 50ppm
Alk-3.5 p/pl
So now what? How do I get the tank back to the proper levels ?
I did a 50% water change and put in mixed salt water 5 gallons (50%)
I added some of the cycle additive as per directions.
I have about 5lb's of LR in the 10 with a 1 inch deep SB. currently it has 2 filters one hang on and one canister with carbon. I also aded some PH buffer to get it to 8.2.
What's my next move ?

well i would lower your sg slowly to 1.019 to 1.023 this way there are less paricites in the tank and try to keep the water around 77.4 to 77.8. as for the amm just water changes and cut back on feeding.
As for nitrate the water changes will low them try to keep them at 10ppm or below, As for the ph it is okay anywhere from 7.8 to 8.4 is good don't add any buffer seeing that it will up your alk.
