Hey,
This should probably be in the Reef Tanks bb, but here you go. Mushroom corals are in the Fungiidae family and require little current and should be placed on aragonite with room to move around and feed on detritus in the sand. Their zooxanthellae need intense light that can reach the bottom of your tank. (VHO or MH)
Just a humble suggestion? Find out these things before you put them in your tank. HTH
Take care,
Dan'l :D

For starters, not too sure but you puffer isn't reef safe. You might look into it. I never want to disagree with another person giving advise but my experiences are as follows. I bought 2 pieces of Mushroom rock with each containing 4 and 5 mushrooms. I have a 25 gal mini reef with a prizm protein skimmer and a empiror 280 for filtration, a power compact light and crushed coral subtrait. I placed my mushrooms close to the top and they are doing great. I suppliment my water with iron, coral-vite, and calcium. My mushrooms have tripled in size in the last 5 months and so my thought has to be that I must be doing something right. I have read that they do better at the bottom of the tank and I have read that they like the light at the top. You should see what yours likes, top or bottom and do that. I don't usually directly feed mine although some have, I feed my tank inhabitants from the saltwater multi-pak and rotate which combo they get so I am assuming they take what they need. Good luck with yours. I love mine, they really add color and life to my tank. Check on the puffer though before you get too attached to the shrooms. Better safe than sorry.

My 30 has 110 watt pc
Mushrooms located on or near the bottom of tank and growing and doing great
I Feed them about 1-2 times per month, frozen brine shrimp or silversides squirted on each polyp, they wrap around the food and curl up - matter of minutes the food is gone.
Light iodine added few times per month seems to help them open and expand.
$30 bucks does sound like a good deal for 10 nice shrooms !
