is a 75 gallon tank with corals, water, sand, and ect...... to heavy to put in a house with out support beams under the floor? the lady at ***** said she would not reccomend any thing over 55 gallons with out support beams. PLeas help me my husband is at ***** now fixing to get the tank and this is a major concern to us.

How can you not have support beams under your floor? You have to have something holding the floor. I have a 75gal and i live in a mobil home so IMO you are fine. Also a friend of mine has a mobile home down the street and he has a 75, 55, and 4 20gals in his living room.

lol, i have a 150g, with a 20 sump for my skimmer, 29 fuge, 30g return sump and i live in a trialer.

(it does have a few braces underneth but there isn't any pressure on them yet)
just make sure you tank lays acrosse the floor beams, not with. Everyhouse, trialer, condo, has floor beams, or sits on a concrete pad.

I think he means support braces. I would think that you could have quite a large tank without braces (think of how heavy a bathtub is). Like djevak said... just get the floorplan for your house and make sure that the tank is sitting perpendicular to the framing in the floor.

This is just me, but I would purchase a 20 dollar stud finder before I get all that new stuff and have to transfer everything in the tank. Run it along your floors and see what it detects.

Yeah just find where the floor beams are and put it across them, should be fine.

75 gallons of water weighs just over 600 pounds. That is like 3 good sized men standing in the same area as your tank. I assume that is like 18" by 48" footprint. That isn't the total load but you can see it is not that much when ya think about it. Now about that 240 gallon . . . . :thinking:
