Help on feather dusters agian

I had three feather dusters,two that popped their feathers off and one is doing fine. The 2 that popped their feathers, came out of the tube and went else where in the tank. One has since died.Why are they doing this and do you need to save the old tub?

What are your water parameters and how long is the tank set up?

One of the reasons they will do this is if they are stressed. I never save the old tubes. They can build a new one. They like to be in a medium flow area.

My nitrites were a little higher then normal and with adding then to the tank at this time may have stressed them. Will the one that is out of the tube survive? It apprears to be looking for a place to live. Tanks been set up for 4 weeks.
