Help on moving tank

Hey guys, Been a long while since I posted on here but I need some suggestions. I have a 90g with built in overflow and a 29g sump. I started remodeling the kitchen last week and put Pergo flooring down. Now my wife wants to replace the carpet in the livingroom with the same Pergo. Only problem is trying to move my tank. I was thinking that if I moved the liverock from up top to the bottom and drained it to about half and drained the sump. I should be able to get about 6 of my buddies to help me tip one side up high enough to get a piano dolly under it and wheel it into my kitchen until I get the floor layed. I'l only need to move it for about 2 hours so I was thinking about just leaving it on the dolly. Anybody have an other suggestions??

No that will work pretty well. Recently moved my 90 a couple of times due to construction. First from the den to the living room, then from the living room to the great room and finally from the 90 to a 120. Each time I simply placed all corals and LR in rubbermaids and saved all the water in the same rubbermaids, moved the tank with 2 guys, heavy but doable then refilled everything back into the tank. Good idea when doing this to have a few extra buckets of water mixed up and ready to go as it is difficult to get all the water back into the tank from the rubbermaids.
Key is to make the move efficiently and quickly particularly if the house is on the cool side. Also a good idea to put a powerhead and heater in each of the rubbermaids so as to minimize any temperature swings.
Good luck with the move.

WE had to move ours and it was a nightmare. Of course our is a 200 gallon. Our stand started to crack and it SUCKED!
We had to syphon the water into rubbermaid totes, take out all the rocks and fish and EVERYTHING. It took from 8am to 11pm that night.
Good luck with it!!! I hope yours goes a lot easier and faster than ours did....
