we purchased a flame angel about weeks ago as our last addition into our 46 gallon. when we got the fish.. the lady at the store had a bit of trouble getting him out of the net, and when we got home we noticed that his fin on the top of him had a little rip.. we just thought it was from the net. it seems to be gettingworse.. the skin has come right off the tine on the top of his back.. and now we look this morning and the tine is gone.
ammonia 0, nitrite, 0, nitrate 5 sg 1.024 temp 78
we just 10 percent did a water change last night
we have 2 bengaii cardinals, 2 clown fish, 1 chromis.. and our flame angel.
he swims around and is always picking at the rock.. he doesnt seem to be ill
i looked at the diseased fish post.. and i dont think its HLLE.. but i really dont know a lot about this stuff.
weve been feeding mysis soaked with multi vit, and garlic.. as well as some seaweed on a veggie clip. hes forver picking at the rock..and sometimes picks at the seaweed... eats the mysis once in a while.
should we be worried about this thing on his back? any suggestions? thanks in advance

I would be suspicious of what appears to be small white dots on it's tail, could just be the picture. The dorsal fin looks pretty good, in that picture anyway. I would try to get a different picture.

am noticing those white spots as well... we didnt see the spots .. till we posted the picture.. the chunk missing out of his dorsal fin is right above the second black line.
i dont think any of the other fish are picking on him.. we watch at night.. and everyone seems to get along..

The missing chunk out of his dorsal fin will grow back, I wouldn't worry about it. More to worry are the white dots.
