Help!!!!!!! Our Tank Has Ich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I know the best way to get rid of ICH is to do some hyposalinity to the tank. I have a couple of questions about this...
If I take the fish out of the DT and put them in QT to treat, how is that treating the DT? Won't the ICH still be there when I return the fish to the DT? Should I just treat the entire DT? Also, we have live rock and a few snails...if I put them in a QT, won't they have it on them when I try to put it all back in the DT?
This all started because of an infected Red Snapper from my LFS. They finally admitted that they had a contaminated tank and tried to make it up to people by giving away some smaller fish after they "fixed" tank. Well...let me just say...I am pretty PO'ed at the LFS.
My tank has ICH and it is ALL THEIR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in the process of setting up the QT tank, but I guess I wasn't fast enough.

its not all their fault. you bought the fish with ich and added it to your DT without first quarantining. we all make this mistake only once, i can guarantee after this you will never not QT again. haha!
ich has a life cycle that requires it to have a vertebrate host... your fish. without the fish to be the host, ich can not survive. so if you remove the fish from the tank it will break the ich life cycle and they will not be able to reproduce and will eventually die off.

The display should remain fishless for six weeks. This is about how long Hypo takes anyway. Please read Beth's info on Hyposalinity in her Common Treatments FAQ.

I am sorry to say that it isn't really the LFS's fault. You should quarantine new fish. I know that you want to place the blame on them, and I am sure that they lied to you. The fact is that even the best LFS's fish need to be quarantined. It is the harsh truth that every hobbyist finds out sooner or later.

I know it is not all their fault. It just frustrates me that this has happened. I have read Beth's thread about hypo and that is the plan. We are going to get some fresh water and hypo the tank starting tomorrow.

Test the PH of the fresh water. You may need to add a buffer. Salt mixes have buffer already in it. There will be less salt in the tank so you will have to compensate. It is best to mix the buffer in the FW before adding it to the tank.
