Help Please - Power heads off

I just added southdown sand, tonight, and I need to know if I leave my powerheads off for a couple of days if it will hurt my tank. All I have in there are a few starfish, some crabs, and a small piece of xenia. I read that if I leave the power heads off the sand will settle faster, but how long is to long. Thanks

Hey.. i had put down southdown about a month ago.. for 24 hours turn everything off!!! after that, i would turn on your filter (not powerheads) and fill your filter up with filter floss its very cheap you throw it out and it gets a lot of the mixed sand out.. then add a bottle of CYCLE, i did this and in 48 hours tank was crystal clear. The reason for the cycle is that when the bacteria binds to the sand, it helps keep it together without fogging up your tank

Chaplain, don't add cycle.....no point to wasting $10 for a bottle of bacteria that you already have with the lr in your tank!
