I am making a in-wall display. Its 54"L x 28"W x 30"H roughly about 200-215 Gallons.
I just found out that acrilic 1/2" cost $350 a 8' x 4' Sheet!
This is what I want to do.... CAN I make just the front out of (1/4" Acrilic) and the back, botom and sides out of some other "Cheaper" "Durable" material that bonds to acrilic just as well??? Any help would be great.

3/4 inch plywood and a lot of liguid nails, marine epoxy and silicone. Go to this web site and this might help you. I know of no ways to chemically bond acrylic to glass other than a lot of silicone. Even then you are going to need thick glass and it is not cheap the last time I looked. You will need something strong enough to hold in all that water. BOL

If you are already balking at the price of the acrylic, then you are in the wrong hobby.
Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to deter you, but a 200+ gallon tank is easily going to cost you well over 5K . . . probably in the ball park of 10K to fully set up properly and stock.
About the tank . . . plywood tanks can be built. It is definitely a possibility. There is lots of info if you do a google search for them. Are they as durable as a welded acrylic or glass tank? Probably not. Would I put one in my wall? Probably not.

I saw some acrylic tanks on ---- the other day. Just search for saltwater aquariums and you will find them. They are nice, I beleive, and it could probably fit in yer wall. Come right from a saltwater fish store that lost business, they look really good.Check it out.
