Help please

I just put water in my new 120 and my 30 gallon sump and i was running the water through and it seems that the water only goes through 1 over flow box instead of 2. So would it be ok if i made the water higher then the over flow boxes. so it can catch water in both of them. Thanks for any help.

Is the tank not level? I would check to be sure before doing anything else. Having alost of unequal pressure could cause stress to the tank.

In the end...should your tank already be level and the overflows are at different heights, if you raise the water level in the tank, you better make sure there's room for all of it in the sump. Should your return go out it's all gonna drain down.

Thanks guys for your comments. The reason it was unlevel was because i built my stand and i cut some pieces shorter then the other but emptied out all of the water.(Pain). And did some reajusting to it and now everything is fine.
