i am having an out break of hair algea bad. i have scubed rocks and have a uv sterilizer what else can i do? Can a imbalance in chemicals be the problem?

what are your parameters? What is your water source RO or tap? What do you feed and how often. Normally elevated nitrates and phosphates via feeding and water source are the cause of nusiance algae blooms. Nitrates should be low to zero and phosphates should be zero. Feed quality frozen foods that are thawed and rinsed and you really don't need to feed every day.

Also..I had a real bad HA problem from a tank that was getting tons of sunlight on it...

Def check parameters, but in the meantime add as many blue leg hermits as you can, hair algae is their favorite food! Here in S. Florida the crabs are in the local waters so they are easy to acquire.
