What can I use to secure my rocks to one another to build them to allow platforms for corals while being stable??? I am going nuts. ONe of my rocks just about fell on my brain coral tonight and I am just sick. I have been trying for hours to get them secure and now my back and neck hurt and they are all laying in a heap in there for the night. I am beside myself. PLZ help me and give me explicit instructions on how to use any product. I have a combo of live rock, lace rock, and "bleached" coral, if that matters. :help: :help: :help:

I have heard they sell a Marine grade epoxy that is used to "glue" rocks together sold at Lowe' or Homer Depo. HTH

So do I have to remove the rocks, dry them, epoxy them together, and then how long do I leave them to set before putting them back in? I just don't want to make a bigger mess than I already have. Also, doing all this rock work and moving things around, am I going to cause a massive ammonia spike now. My tank is newly cycled. Sorry so many questions and thank you for your very quick response.

There is a fresh thread started about glueing frags, It was stated in there that they used super glue jel with no effect to the tank. I definately would do a water change 10-15% in the morning or tomorrow if you have the sw mixed already. (remember it should be mixed well for 24 hrs. before putting it in) HTH

Thank you so much. I read that post and every other post I could find that had anything to do with this. I have rearranged the rock so it kind of leans on the back and that has made it way more stable. I am definitely going to go get some epoxy tomorrow though. Thanks again for calming me and saving me from having my neighbors report me for throwing suspicious "rock shaped" objects from my house. :joy:

What you are Supposed to do...Is arrange them...let them sit for a day and let the sand settle.
What happens is..the air trapped in the sand get release and the sand settles...rock settles then falls..
RE set them back up and you should be all set..
Another trick that a lot of people use...is Cut small rings of PVC that reach the bottom glass and set them in sand for the rocks to sit on...This provides a real stable base.
All my tanks have High stacked rocks with NO GLUE.
I have about 1,000lbs of LR total in all my tanks...
I guess im a good stacker as well lol.

i used the white eggcrate stuff and about 1/2 inch pieces of PVC so they are raised up if the goby digs under them. I have over 150lbs of LR and have had no problems with this set up. I have also heard you can use zip ties to link them together and after time the zip ties encrust with coraline and you can't really see them. HTH

THank you all for your very creative suggestions. I would've never thought of the ties but that makes sense. Holy cow, sw65, 1000 lbs of lr, did I read that right? You must have a second job or a second

just to pay for it. I cringed buying 50 lbs. LOL Maybe you want to take a day trip to ND and stack my rock for me. We have so much to see and great tourist attractions like, hmmmm...rocks, fields, cows, the world's largest statue of a buffalo and a cow, oh and some mud puddles we call lakes. Now doesn't that sound like a great trip. Way too enticing to resist isn't it???
