I have a 125gl tank and think it was tues or wed added a purple tang. Well my yellow tang started fighting with it and I wound up getting rid of the yellow. Yesterday the purple started getting small white specs and its eyes seemed cloudy so I set up a 10gl QT. Salinity in qt is 1.014 and have copper treatment in it. today there are fewer white specs on him but seems to be a near clear slime like stuff spotty also. Am I on the right track here?

Need a bit more details about the problem. Is what you are describing ick, with salt like dots covering the fish, in addition to white slime? If this is the case, you are probably experiencing both ick as well as a bacterial infection. Additionally, needless to say, you should QT a new specimen.
Please give more details.
Also, what do you mean you "got rid of the yellow tang"?

Calssic newbie mistake? Live and learn! Thx for the imput All i see now is the rapid breathing and spots no slime so i'm sure that i'm after ick. Its in a 10gl QT and i just did about 10% water change. Is hypo beter than copper for treatment? For a beginer which would ya refer copper or hypo?

sry using paracure copper treatment which was included in a red sea mini lab test kit. Checking in the am and evening when i get home. But confused now as to which route to follow hypo or copper. I guess basically which is easier and safer? i'm guessing hypo as long as i rid myself of the plastic SG meter and get a good one?
