I picked up a oyster shell (dead) with Xenia on it from a Fishstore last week. Like 6 or 7 large Xenia stocks and others growing. Beautiful piece and was pulseing in 2 days or so. While putting it in I saw this really small thing like ant size and it was gray looked kinda like a shrimp. It was on the shell when it went in. These past few days I think somethings been eating my Xenia!!!   What ever it is it's makeing little holes that when you look into look like a yellow pus like substance. On two stocks the main "truck is like eaten in half and on top is a green sand like substance. The once that are really really bad are all shriviled up (only one) there are two that have there main trunk shaved in half but they seem ok. The one shriviled up I cant really see. At first I though the little hole I saw was just a scratch. In my tank is a small purple reef lobster two clowns and...a yellow tang.
(Please people I know the tang doesnt belong it's only been in my tank because my dads 135 is recovering from a ick explosion and it was in my tank because one of his other tangs was picking on it. Please believe me when I say this it's going back I no my tank is way to small and I dont want the fish.)
I dont know what is eating it maybe that little gray thing? IS there like any shrimp I could buy that would eat it or something.
My tank stats:
15 gallon High
12 lbs LR
some Mushrooms
Xenia
thats it thanks for the help!

uum no dont get the mandarin because they are extremely delicate so it'll probably die. what i suggest is remove the xenia , if you can to another tank and observe it for a few days. the shrimp is stronger than the xenia and IMO you shouldn't have bought the xenia out of an oyster shell. you can try to get some non-delicate inv. eaters not a mandarin
