Help!!! Royal Gramma

Purchased a Royal Gramma from this site which was received today. The fish looked extremely streesed ( can't blame it traveling from FL to CT ) although color looks good. I have been acclimating for almost 2 hours now but the poor thing has not got off it's side! Is this normal for this fish?

Define off its side? On the bottom of the tank/bag/whatever? Or is it just swimming sideways?
I know my RG (and I've heard of others) doesn't like to swim on what I would call the 'normal' axis.

I bought one from here too. He was acting really funny when I was acclimating him. When I finally added him to my tank he stayed at the top of the tank for about twelve hours and then disappeared. I thought he had died but he ended up coming out one day when I was feeding the other fish. He's been doing fine and is a great addition to my tank.
I can't say for certain if what yours is doing is normal, but I can say that mine was acting strangely but all turned out well. I hope it's the same for you. Best of luck with your RG.

I recently got a RG(not from SWF) It acted much like yours for several hours. It pretty much was laying on it's side in the corner ot the tank. The next morning it was fine and swimming & eating. I think it was just stressed from shipping. I hope yours will be ok.

Glad to hear your RG is doing well. They are beautiful fish. Mine is finally overcoming his social anxieties and is spending a lot more time in plain sight rather than hidden in the LR.
