HELP!!
I bought a JBJ Formosa system from someone here. It arrived with one of the bulbs completely shattered. Now I have two questions:
One, how do I open the unit to get the glass out?
Two, where can I buy replacement bulbs?
Thanks,
~D~

You can open the jbj by slideing out a black plastick clip on the right side (if you are looking from the front.) the clip kinda pulls out then slides back. Pull it all the way out and then the plexy will slide out of the end. I got my bulbs from seven seas. I don't want to post the site. I would gladly say from SWF but they didn't have them. I'll mail you the address and the price I paid if you want.

I'll go fiddle with it and see if I can open it. There's a ton of glass rattling around... it's the 10000k bulb that broke :(
I'll post back and let you know how it goes.
I called the "good" LFS by me and they don't carry JBJ bulbs, but the ones they DO carry are about $40. Kinda steep, isn't it? But at least I can have it fixed in an hour! LOL!!

Great! Thanks for your help!
I was able to get in and get the glass shards cleaned out. I checked with another LFS and they have 55 watt 10000k bulbs for $35. Can that ballast run 55 watt bulbs?

You can run the 55watt bulbs in the JBJ with no problem. My original JBJ 10000k bulbs only lasted 6 months so my LFS replaced them for 1/2 price with 55s. Work just fine. I'll order my next ones from internet. Seems 30-35 is about the right price.
Just be real carefull putting them in. It's a tight fit and it's easy to shatter the new bulbs by banging them against the other bulbs. Ask me how I know:(
You'll like the Formosa. Nice clean package. Just the bulbs from JBJ aren't the best.
Good Luck!

Hey, thanks for the info Michael.
The LFS only had 6700 daylight at the $35 price... so I had to get a CoralLife 10k 55w bulb for $52. OUCH!
I've found several sites online for 1/2 that.
ANYWAY... got the bulb in, the lights are on and look fabulous, dahling.... now for the FUN!!!!
