ok....about a week ago, i put one dose of maracyn in my reef tank without knowing any better. after i put it in, my skimmer started making excess bubbles and sending them back into my tank. the skimmer is a corallife super skimmer 125. the only way i could hook it up was hob b/c i didnt have enough room under the tank in the sump. i know all of these bubbles are from the meds, b/c before the meds there werent any bubbles from the overflow.
after i pt the meds in last week, i shut the skimmer off for a week. after that one dose of meds, i took the sick fish out of the dt and put him in a qt and medicated from there. no more meds went into the dt
i have been running carbon in the sump in a filter pouch, and have done a 5% water change. how do i get the skimmer to stop producing excess bubbles?

oh yeah, today was the first time i turned the skimmer back on. when i turned it on this morning, i figured it would work its way out by the end of the day. i just got home from work 11 hours later and it is still making just as much bubbles as when i left this morning.

Have you been adjusting the Air bleed on your skimmer? I had those extra air bubbles in my skimmers output until I got it dialed in. I also noticed that when I recently put fresh carbon canisters in my HOB canister filters (to clear up "yellow" water-worked great BTW) the skimmer production went to zero for a bout a week. My personal experience is that the skimmers can change operating output, depending on changing conditions in the tank so it can be necessary to fiddle w/air to make it work.
Hope this helps.
