Help! Skimmer trouble

I unplugged my skimmer today to add something to my tank and when I plugged it back in it wasn't producing bubbles anymore. If I hold my hand over the inflow nozzle it starts running noormally but as soon as I remove my hand it quits producing bubbles and just pumps water through the skimmer.
It's a turbo flotor 1000 multi and has only been hooked up for one day.

So if there are bubbles the pump is running, correct? I have a little knob on mine. if you turn it to the left, it produces bubbles, and if you turn it to the right, it does not make any bubbles. See if you have a knob on yours that you can turn. I didn't even realize that mine was a knob. I just thought it was a stoper so water wouldn't leak out. I am not really good with the technical stuff.

I have two of the knobs but they only adjust how much water flows from the skimmer to my tank.
I can't figure it out because it starts producing bubbles if I put my hand over the nozzle.
