help stocking.

Hello. i am about to set up my 65. i plan on making it a reef tank. i was wondering if i could get some recommendations to what corals/sponges i could put in the tank. The lights i am gonna have starting are i think 260 watts. I want to have fish and inverts as well as the corals. Any thoughts for good starter corals and sponges? I will give you want i would really love to have. Chili coral, some carnations, blueberry gorgonian, orange Tree Gorgonian, tree sponge, kenya, and blue mushrooms. i know some on that list are difficult but thats what i want in the long run. Any ideas/suggestions?

the chili coral, carnation, the orange tree, and blueberry gorgonian will all die on you. none of these are for new tanks, and i don't believe they are for established tanks either. they will all require nutrient rich waters, which mean certain death for our closed systems. they are also non-photosynthetic, which means they don't need any light, nor do they get any benefit from it. strictly food.
the kenya and blue mushrooms are indestructable, and would be more suitable for your tank.
i'm guessing the 260 watt fixture is a power compact fixture. mushrooms, softies, and some lps are what you should be picking from.
good luck!

ok cool. yeah thats what i heard about the blueberry. i just happen to see one at one of the stores i go to and just immediatly wanted it so i came home and did alot of research on them and was quite let down but i still ask just in case. hehehe.

the 2 you listed are similar. i would look for a photosynthetic one. they aren't quite as pretty as the 2 ou wanted, but they are still cool.
