Update to this post. Go there to get the background of this post.
24 hours after cleaning my tank, my Serpent Star (or Brittle Star) has gotten this:

I don't know much about these wounds, but they develop after the starfish has undergone quite a bit of stress, right? I'm sure that the magnitude of cleaning my tank yesterday caused it, unfortunately. He(?) has had a couple of these before and fully recovered, though they were much smaller and on the top of his body. (In fact, I thought they were wounds inflicted by my pencil urchin at first)
Can I do anything to treat his wound or help him recover? I've kept the lights off all day for his sake, and I'll do so tomorrow unless suggested otherwise.
Will he survive this like he did last time?
Has anyone else had this happen to their starfish? If so, what did you do to aid it's recovery? Did it recover?
My Serpent star is 14 years old and, before this, extremely healthy and in very good condition.
PLEASE: ANY advice would be most appreciated! Needless to say, I'm very concerned... =[

Hello, sorry for your trouble with your star. There is not much in the way of treatment that can be offered to invertebrates except quality water, feeding and an environment that is free from harassment.
I moved your topic over to our Invert Forum so it may get more traffic. You originally posted in the Fish Disease and Site Questions Forum.
Try feeding the star using a feeding syringe to make sure that he gets food daily. Use a vit. supplement in the food such as Zoecon or Selcon. Keep an eye out for harassment and be prepared to move him to a hospital tank if he is being bothered by other tankmates.
