Help Tang Is Dying

My yellow tang is getting ready to die. I have tried to treat it but nothing is helping. The fish looks miserable and I don't think it will survive the night. What is the most humane way to let the fish die? Should we nature take its course or flush it down the toilet? I am afraid flushing it down the toilet may cause more pain. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well I am not sure - try doing a search. I read somewhere about folks putting their fish in some water and placing in the freezer. I read that was humane. I dont' know though someone will answer who knows but you cand do a search.
ARe you sure you can't do anything to help him? Have you tried posting on the disease thread?

Freezing fish makes for a slow painful death. The best way to do it is with a sharp hard blow to the head, though I couldn't do it, I feel for you, sorry.............

What's wrong with your Tang? Water parameters? Size tank?

the fish has severe fin and tail rot, open wounds, and it has not eaten for about 4 or 5 days that I know of. I have been using melafix and just started with the primafix. I have been feeding it brine shrimp, green and red seaweed, and flake, as a variety. Since he has stopped eating I have tried to mix garlic extreme with his food and it did not help. He looks miserable, he is just laying up against a piece of rock getting ready to die. I can't handle watching him suffer anymore. Please Help.......

Post in the disease forum. Beth is very knowledgeble. There is also a FAQ threat. You might find answers there. I have never encountered fin rot so I can't help. There are very knowledgable people over there willing to help. Good luck!!

I've never been able to do this...I just can't kill, even though it's best. That's why it's good to have Sinner, he's in charge of all euthanizes and dead animal removal/burrial.
