Help! Tank / stand problem....

Help!
I ran into a problem with my DIY tank stand.
Turns out, the top is not completely flat, as i had sanded the top in the process of finishing it. It "looks" flat, but when i placed the tank on top, the tank 'rocks' back and forth a little bit. the front left corner is about 1/4 inch from touching the tank stand if the back right corner is pushed down so it touches. (it is an even slope back to the other 2 corners from the corner that is off the stand)
I am imagining, that once i fill this with LS/LR and water (55 gallon tank) that this will put enough stress to break the joints, or the glass, or at the very least, weaken the seams over time and develope a leak.
What can i do?
I saw a post on leveling tank stands, and someone mentioned using styrofoam between the tank and the tank stand- would this work? I guess that the stryofoam would compress more where it needed it, and less where it wouldn't, therefore balancing it all out.
If so- what kind of styrofoam would i use?
Any ideas?
Thanks- I don't want to have to build that stand again! it took 3 weeks!
Please help!

I have read on other posts that its the ends of the tank that bear the weight. If your tank is touching in the middle, your right, stess, and snap! Can you shim the ends with wood to raise it? Then put syrofoam. Sand the middle down more? I don't know what else
Good luck.

Dburr....
Thanks! After reading your reply- i turned my tank upside down, and the middle support on the bottom of the tank had almost a 1/4 inch bump on it! must have been from the mold- it is a plastic support in the middle. I filed it down, and it made it much better- after that, it was quite simple to level it the rest of the way.
Thanks again...
