My zebra hasn't eaten in a few days, and today he has 2 red "warts" a centimeter above each eye. What is wrong?! I was thinking malnutirtion, but I can't do anything if he won't eat! Someone help!!

I don't know what to tell you about the warts, but it's not uncommon for them to not eat. They can go a week or so with no danger or threat. When he's hungry, YOU WILL know. Ha!

Thank god, I found out what was wrong, my nitrates were skyrocket (I didn't think much of it because I usually did water changes, and none of the other fish were suffering, and because I was an idiot!
). What is swollen I believe is his sensing gland (possibly why he isn't eating). Eels can't have high nitrates because it iritates their skin because it doesn't have scales. I am doing a major water change right now, and I'm sure that the eel should be fine in a few days

i will be honest with you........my zebra lived in a tank with nitrates of a 100 and is/was fine for 4 years.........my tank has nitrates at about 30......so i am doubting that was/is the problem....not saying that it is not.... i just think it might be somthing else
