I was adding more sand to my 45 gal tank last night. I unplugged all the power heads but one and accidently unplugged the heater.
This morning before work i relized i did this, i plugged it back in but turns out only one of the prongs were in the extension cord socket. Now temp has taken a nose dive to 72. I plugged in the plug (the right way this time) and will try to raise the temp very slowly over the next two to three days. I figured i'd do this to avoid more stress.
Is this the correct thing to do in this case? Will the temp drop cause any further problems?
Thanks

I seriously doubt if you will have any troble from this. Most tanks will fluctuate in temp(especially in the summer) a few degrees from day to day...

The temp is usually about 80-81. This is QUITE a fluxuation in my opinion, my fingers are crossd. I can't beleive i didn't double check this when i unplugged my power heads.
Temp is now reading about 73-74 (up 1-2 degrees from this morning). Plan to raise temp to 75 before i shut lights off at 9:00 tonight.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago but didn't catch it for 2 days and temp had dropped into the 60's. I just plugged it in and let it go and things got back to normal within a day, but trey is right that is what I think gave my baby starts and stripes its ick outbreak (but it is fine now as it finishes its lowered salinity time period).
