Help w/xenia

I had to do a 50% water change on my tank lastnight. As usual the xenia closed up, but they havent opened back up yet. I'm less worried about that and more worried that they seem to be shedding a layer of skin or peeling. The best way I can describe it is if you get a sunburn, then the top layer flakes off. Thats what my xenia is doing. Anyone had this happen before? I'm sure its not good, but how bad is it? My star polyps are just starting to come out, but VERY SLOWLY! Any suggestions?

Xena is very hearty.... I have the stuff and they have taken over a little 12 g I have! Were they out of water? If not, then they should bounce back! (And even if they were out of water.... THEY COME BACK!!!) Give em' time!

no never were out of the water. They still havent opened up yet though and its been about 24 hours. Just keeping hope alive!
