I woke up this morning and looked at my yellow tang and one of his eyes is half way covered up in some milky film looking stuff. He will not stay in one place long enough to get a pic. If anyone knows what this is PLEASE let me know what to do. I have some sps and some mushroom coral in the system so I need to know meds to use.
Thanks,
Dave

I haven't put any fish in the tank in about a week and a half. I had the lfs put it in a tank by its self for a couple of days so I could watch it before I bought it. It was a firefish goby. And it is fine.

At this point, I would suggest a large water change and feed the fish garlic soaked foods.
How long have you had this fish? Notice any red streak marks on him?

I have had this fish for about 2 months I haven't noticed anything on the fish. He does tend to run into the rocks alot though. The stuff on its eye is going away now. I always feed garlic soaked food. I get frozen brine and emerald feed and thaw it out then mix it with about 1 tsp of garlic and freeze it in a very small ice cube trays. It seems to work up til now. Or am I feeding too much garlic?

That diet you mention by itself, is not sufficient for a tang. What about vegetarian foods?

I put raw broccoli and spinach leaves in about 3 times a week also. I am gonna try to find some culpra from the lfs. Is that sufficient or do you suggest something else?

How about Seaweed Selects or just plain old Nori from the Oriental section of the grocery store.
