Help with canister filters or sump please!

I have a 55g with a ecosystem 40 pro fuge that I just started up a week ago. I'm trying to decide what to get, either a canister filter or a sum. The only problem with the sump it that I don't have any drilled holes or any plumbing experience whatsoever.
Do you guys think a canister filter is a good option? Either a Rena or a Fluval?
Is there any way to add a sump without having to drill holes? If so, could anyone explain to me how? Thank you soooo muuch!

I think u would have to get a HOB overflow box since ur tank is not drilled, not sure. I also like Fuval and that what i use on my tank.
Anyone else?

I have a canister on my 125 and I'm going to switch to a sump for several reasons...
you dont need to keep changing your media
more water means better chance to catch a problem before it nukes your tank
and it offers a great place to put equipment like skimmers and heaters instead of cluttering up your display tank
there are some great threads in the DIY forum on making your own HOB overflow and sump unit just do a search
hope this helps

Thanks! I might do a HOB, I'm not sure if my tank can be drilled or not and I don't want to risk it
