Hi-
I got a cardinal fish about 11 days ago. He has been in a 10G Q tank since then. Acclimated over an hour and a half and was doing fine until yesterday.
I went to feed him around 6PM and he got spooked and hid (I swear I didn't lay a finger on him). Then he came out and was hovering near the bottom of the tank (he is nomal a mid tank hoverer). He wouldn't eat at first, then took a couple of shrimp.
I measured the following.
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates <10
PH 8.6 this is a little high but I think it is because I don't have light on the Q tank, it is just kept in a well lit room.
Salinity= 1.21
Temp = fluctuated slightly from 75-77 over a 24 hour period.
I did a 10% water change and he was examined for disease, I see nothing.
This morning he still ate a tiny bit but wasn't interested in food like he normally is and he was hiding towards the back of the tank.
Any suggestions? Is this nothing?
