We have purchased several clams, and slowly lose them. What is wrong?
Everything will be fine and then they will be sucked in and not respond to touch. Calcium levels are abovev 420.
Does anyone have any ideas, do you think that something could be getting them. I only have these
few hermit crabs
few snails
various corals
2 bubble tipped anemone, that spend their time on the opposite side of the tank
1 pink spotted goby
1 mandarin goby
1 purple, 1 red firefish
1 hawkfish
1 rabbitfish
1 scopas tang
2 cleaner shrimp
1 pepperment shrimp
2 or 3 emerld crabs
If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

what are all your parameters?
how old is the tank?
how long did you acclimate the clams?
what size was it?
what type of clam was it?
if youre losing them pretty quickly it sounds like it may be due to either being too small of a clam that just couldnt take all the changes, or the acclimation may have not been long enough

Yup, all of that info will be helpful, along with your equipment (ie lighting, etc.). Where are you getting the clams from?
