Help with encrusting gorgonian

Hi guys, i have an encrusting gorgonian on the bottom part of a rock, on the top part, i have my pride and joy button polyps.
my question is in the future once my encrusting gorgonian reaches the polyps, will they cover them up and kill them or grow around them?
if they will not kill my polyps then they can stay, otherwise i have to find a way to kill them. i want to avoid breaking the rock.

What makes you think its a encrusting gargonian? Looks like star polyp mat. I wouldn't worry about it. Just wait and see what happens. I believe the mat will break apart if needed later on. Nice rock by the way. Nice zoos!

It does look like a GSP's mat though....if it bothers you break that piece off, its on a small enough part of the rock.
