Help with ER CS6-1

Need some advise. I have been using a Turboflotor 1000 for the last two years on my 55 reef. While it did a good job overall I got tired of its "sensitive" nature and the constant "dialing-in". So long story made short last week I purchased a new ER CS6-1 because of all the great press.
Well I cleaned out the sump on Saturday and set my new ER up. "Plug and Play as they say. Well its been almost 48 hours and the skimmer has yet to produce any positive results. I can get a very wet foam if I move the riser pipe all the way up, but just fills the collect cup rather quickly and really is not doing any good.
Do I neeed to be more patient or what may I have done wrong? I'm close to installing the 1000 again.

Yes, it can take a week or longer to break in.

Thanks for the heads-up. The ER's were getting such rave reviews. Some threads I read showed pic's of dark skimmate after one day.
I will wait and see what happens.
