Hey guys, i have a 60 gal tank with a Coralife 65 gallon skimmer right now. My pump is making strange loud sounds right now. It sounds like the pump is running dry but its fully submerged. The pump is a rio 1100 that came with the PS. It still is making bubbles but nothing close to the top of the cup. I have tinkered with every possible moving part and the only thing that seems to work is when i plug the end of the air hose, it stops the sound but shoots water into the cup. I know this isn't the best skimmer so i want to see my different options. What do you think would be the best?
I need a HOB, I have coral in my tank so i need a skimmer rather quickly. Price is a small factor, i know how much they are but don't want to go crazy. Should i look into something new or should i maybe replace the pump? What should i do/check for next?
