ok i am waiting for my refractometer should be here tommorow(thought it would be here today) any ways i removed all of my rock and inverts from my display tank in prep. however i still have the sand, i have been told this will be alright? i am just double checking because of having to wait for the refractometer to arrive i have lost a tomato clown, gsm clown, flame angel, and puurple psuedo, all i have left is a blue devil damsel, a flame hawk and a spotted goby all of which show no sign of ick......weird.

The sand should be fine.
I am very sorry to hear that you lost all of the fish in waiting to get the refractometer.
Hopefully you can get rid of this ich problem, ASAP, and at least now you will have a quarantine tank to keep your display ichless.

thanks...i didn't lose all of them, 3 are still alive the flame hawk, a damsel, and a goby which all 3 are showing no signs of the parasite. are their any species that are immune to ick? last question would it help if i get a uv sterilizer, to speed up the die off rate of the ick in my system. Some aquarists talk negatively about the uv sterilizers but from what i understand they are accepted as being a useful tool

UV sterilizers are only useful if the ich swim through the UV sterilizer. The ich in the tank will not be effected by the UV.
There are some species who are not prone to getting ich. Mandarin fish cannot get ich, and you really never see chromis with ich either. Eels are almost totally immune to ich as well. The only fish I would say that is totally immune to ich is the mandarin, though.
