Help with lighting time

I am running a fish only tank with LR. Just want to know how long should I keep the lights on a day, and what is the best kind of light to use. (currently have a 50/50)

Hello. FO tanks require no special lighting. Fish don't need light as they are not photosynthetic. You could just turn it on when you get home and off when you leave or go to sleep. Cutting your light times will cut back on algae too. This will also deplete some oxygen but if you have good surface agitation you will be fine.
On another note why not add some live rock to perform the best filtration.
