I have 2 types of algae in my tank. One is green and long the other is red and squat, but a fast grower. I recently took some of the green out and took as much of the red that I could as well. Could someone let me know if these are good/bad algaes and why? The red was very pretty , but was growing over my hammer coral.

They arn't really good or bad. They won't hurt anything in a display, but they often grow quickly and a lot of people don't like the way they look. It is up to you whether or not you want to keep them in your tank. They can be attractive with regular pruning, but I found it to be more work than it was worth and just removed them.
