hey all. i got a 125reef and i want my tank to have a nice reef rock wall that goes pretty high and i dont wanna buy 300lbs of liverock cause i rather put the money towards filtration. but i heard people make something with PVC so it doesnt use soo much #'s of rock but u can cover it with the rock and make a sick reef wall. any1 have pictures of there tank when they use pvc to stack rock and also pics of the stand u made so i can get a idea.

I would be interested in this PVC rack too. I have a 75 gallon that I am working on and am planning on around 125 lbs of rock maybe up to 150 lbs. I am going to use base rock for over half the rock used in the tank. You can find base rock for around $1 per pound shipped and that way it will be seeded eventially and will add to my overall biological filtration over time and will cut the cost dramaticly. Just a thougt.

SWNewb, Where did you find base rock for $1 a pound? If it is a diff website can you let me know please....The rack you guys are talking about, if were talking about the same thing, you can get PVC eggcrate (stuff you see at tiles over florecent lights in offices and things.. and cut it, and put pecies of PVC pipe and cut them to make little legs and attach them to the corners to make a "deck" or shelf. These keeps the LR off the bottom of the tank, and allows water flow and you can put a power head on the bottom of the tank to blow all the dirt up so it can be picked off by your filter

Got it off that one auction site that everyone loves so much. 50 pounds for $37 plus shipping which ended up being $54 total. Here is a pic. I have not gotten it yet, should be in this week.
