Help with Metal Halide Light

I've been running CoralVue 250 MH Ballasts and Reeflux 10K MH bulbs for over 3 years with no issues. I just ordered new bulbs and I'm having a problem. Here is what happened and the troubleshooting steps I've gone through so far.
Put in a new bulb on the left side to compare the color. I swithed the bulbs last night before going to bed and was waiting today for them to come on to check out the color. Came home today and the new bulb was not working. First thought, I have a bad bulb.
Took out second new bulb and inserted it instead and it still failed to light. Get a flicker but nothing. Hmm. Another bad bulb?
Take out old right bulb and try new bulb. Fires up no problem.
Something wrong with the left side. I put the old bulb back in the left side and it will only flicker and not light either. New bulbs are ok.
Now I know something is wrong between the Ballast power cords and the mogel socket. I switch my ReefKeeper 2 plugs to see if the RK2 has any issues and still left side flickers and won't light.
Now I'm stuck on what the most likely problem could be to know what to do next? I'm thinking the last thing I did before it quit working was take out the old bulb and put in the new last night and waited till today to find out it didn't work. Messed up the Mogel socket maybe?
Before I start unwiring things to troubleshoot, any suggestions on the symptom where the problem might be?

it's not magnetic right ? if it's not it's very possible the capacitor died and won't keep the bulb fired. if it is magnetic I have no clue, SCSInet should know, drop him a PM if he doesnt chime in before hand.

It's an electronic ballast. I have since swithed the ballast and light configuration and the problem followed the ballast. Not sure if its toast or not as it's pretty coincidental that it happened right at the light change.
