Help with my Mandarin please

I noticed i had a lot of those copepod critters on my tank. My lfs told me that a mandarin goby will eat them. He did. Now there are none left, as far as i see. I didn't want him to starve, so i bought frozen brine shrimp. I haven't really seen him eat it. Do you think he is going to be okay?

These fish require larger mature systems with plenty live rock or a sonstant supply of pods from a fuge. brine shrimp has about the same nutritional value to maine animals as Potato Chips. Try some mysis shrimp but I would take the animal back if you cannot provide a constant supply of pods.

my tank is 4 weeks old and is a 10g. My lfs told me that the copepods will keep producing but i don't see anymore. i want to get some live brine shrimp but i bought the frozen kind because i will be out of town for a couple days and my cousin will be taking care of them. didn't want to make it too complicated for him. I will get the live brine when i come back on sunday.

take the mandrin back. he will starve to death in a tank that new and small. not an adequate habitat for such a beautifull and delicate animal.

The animal requires a minimum of about 100 pounds of live rock and amature system . You best take him back...he will starve.

do lfs sell live mysis shrimp along with live brine? because i have never really seen live mysis. Also i was thinking if i should get a mate for my mandarin since i have read that they sometimes breed?

They have to come from you rliverock and breed, that wont happen though because the mandarin will gobble them up very quickly.
IMO No matter how hold your tank was a 10 gal could NEVER support a mandarin off of copepods.
If you cant support one dont think about getting a mate for him, thats would just be 2 mandarin lives cut short.

your missing the point, your fish will not be happy, it is rare that a mandrin will accept shrimp of any sort as part of his diet, but, who knows maybe you'll get lucky and he'll take to it. but you know my opinion of keeping that fish in the tank. just trying to keep you from losing the fish!!
